ABANDONED GAMES:
The referee may decide to abandon a game for any number of reasons. When such occurs the referee will file a game report stating the reason for the abandonment. An abandoned game will be an official complete game under the following circumstances:
· If the second half of any game is started and the referee abandons the game, the score stands and the game is official.
· If the referee with the agreement of both coaches decides to play shortened halves, the game stands as played. If this shortened game is abandoned in the second half the score stands and the game is official.
· Once the referee steps onto the pitch, he has sole control over the decision to continue/abandon a game. If the referee determines that the field is safe for play, then the game stands. If a team refuses to play, the game is forfeit by the team refusing play.
In all cases the division directors will review the game report along with the sportsmanship and competition committees if applicable to decide on the disposition of games abandoned that are not official complete games under the above circumstances.
